Whitburn Returns to River Valley Bank’s Board of Directors

 

WAUSAU, WI – After serving 10 years on River Valley’s Board of Directors the Bank is proud to announce Gerald Whitburn, Chairman and retired President and CEO of Church Mutual Insurance Company has rejoined the Bank’s Board of Directors. He joined Church Mutual in 1996 and served as CEO from 2001 thru 2010.

A native of Merrill, Wisconsin, Whitburn has a broad background in business and government which includes two cabinet positions in Wisconsin as Secretary of Health and Social Services and Labor Secretary.

 

In 1981 Whitburn returned to Washington to work in the United States Senate.  He came back to Wisconsin in 1987 and served for two and one-half years as Deputy Secretary of the State Department of Administration.

 

Whitburn currently serves on the Board of Regents at the University of Wisconsin and serves on the board of the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute.  He also serves on the National Advisory Council of the Marshfield Clinic, as well as on the board of Step Up For Students, the nation’s largest school choice program which operates in Florida.
